Roger Power

Roger Power, CIM, FCSI, is Executive Vice President at Aylward and Associates Consulting Inc., bringing more than three decades of experience in financial services, investment management, and senior‑level advisory support to organizations across multiple sectors.

Mr. Power began his career in the financial services industry in 1994 with Midland Walwyn Capital Inc., the predecessor to Merrill Lynch Canada. Over the following 27 years, he built a distinguished career in retail financial services, serving as an Investment Advisor and later spending eight years as an Investment Executive with ScotiaMcLeod. His career progression reflects a strong track record in client advisory, portfolio management, and leadership within highly regulated environments.

He holds several highly regarded professional designations, including Professional Financial Planner (PFP), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Chartered Portfolio Manager (CPM), and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), demonstrating a deep commitment to professional excellence and ethical standards within the investment industry.

In 2008, Mr. Power was selected to open a brokerage office for Industrial Alliance Securities, a leading national securities firm, and was appointed Branch Manager. Under his leadership, the St. John’s office experienced significant growth and operational success, earning national recognition within five years and being awarded the firm’s National Branch of Distinction.

Since 2011, Mr. Power has focused on providing senior financial leadership to small and medium‑sized enterprises, effectively serving as a “CFO‑for‑hire.” In this capacity, he has delivered strategic financial oversight, governance support, and operational insight across a diverse range of industries, including engineering consulting, financial services, environmental services, transportation, business equipment supply, construction, and healthcare.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Power has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. He served as President of Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador for six years and contributed 11 years as a board member, supporting the organization’s mission to improve quality of life for individuals with disabilities throughout the province. Outside of his professional work, Mr. Power enjoys golf, hiking, travel, and spending time with family.
